About

Dr. Karabiber has a number of advanced degrees relating to his field. He has an M.S. from the Department of Computer Engineering at Istanbul University (2005), as well as a Ph.D. from the same department at Istanbul University (2009).   Upon completion of his Ph.D., Dr. Karabiber accepted a position at University of North Caroline at Chapel Hill in the Chemistry Department. He has since accepted a professorship with Yildiz Technical University in the Department of Computer Engineering, and was promoted to Associate Professor in September of 2014. Now he is working as Senior Data Scientist in Sharelook.

His primary work area is Data Science. He has very strong background in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Mining and Machine Learning. He authored/coauthored over 30 publications including journals and conferences related to these areas.  He develops computer programs and software using Python, R programming and Matlab.  He has taught 11 different graduate/undergraduate courses. He is really enthusiastic to teach and to interact with students. He has supervised more than 10 graduate students and also undergraduate final projects.
